NIST/SEMATECH Engineering Statistics Handbook
Introduction The NIST/SEMATECH Engineering Statistics Handbook is a web based statistics handbook oriented towards engineering and scientific applications. The handbook was developed as a joint partnership between the Statistical Engineering Division of NIST and the Statistical Methods Group of SEMATECH.
Integration of Dataplot and the Handbook The Handbook is integrated with Dataplot in the following two ways.
  • Case studies can be run from the handbook using the Dataplot software. This is currently supported for Unix and Windows XP/VISTA/7 platforms running the graphical user interface.

    Note that Dataplot must be downloaded and installed on your local system and your browser must be configured to run Dataplot macros.

    Note: This capability is currently disabled.

  • Dataplot has a

    command to access specific pages in the handbook. The menus for the Dataplot graphical user interface use the handbook as an on-line help system in various places (via this WEB HANDBOOK command). To view a list of available keywords, enter the command

      LIST REFMAN.TEX

    This complements Dataplot's standard on-line help (the HELP and WEB HELP commands) in that the WEB HANDBOOK command references material describing the underlying statistics while the standard help is about how a technique is implemeneted in Dataplot.
