Hurricane-borne missile speeds (project sponsored by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission)

Introduction Mathematica software is provided that implements the numerical methods described in the following report prepared by Emil Simiu and Florian Potra:
U.S. NRC Report: NUREG/CR-7004 - Technical Basis for Regulatory Guidance on Design-Basis Hurricane-Borne Missle Speeds for Nuclear Power Plants
Download The following material is available
  • U.S. NRC Report: NUREG/CR-7004 - Technical Basis for Regulatory Guidance on Design-Basis Hurricane-Borne Missle Speeds for Nuclear Power Plants (PDF format)
  • U.S. NRC Report: NUREG/CR-7004 - Technical Basis for Regulatory Guidance on Design-Basis Hurricane-Borne Missle Speeds for Nuclear Power Plants (Word format)
  • mv.nb - Mathematica notebook containing the subroutine used for producing the numerical results from the NUREG-CR-7004 report as well as a high accuracy variant of that subroutine which has enhanced functionality.
  • examples.nb - Mathematica notebook containing examples for using the subroutines contained in mv.nb.
  • Software Manual - manual describing how to install and use the "mv.nb" software and run the examples given in "examples.nb".
In order to use the software given here, you must have Mathematica 6 installed on your computer.
